Planning

The first phase of any website build is to discuss project goals and expectations with you. Once we understand your needs, we create a formal requirements document that serves as a “blueprint” for the project. This document includes elements such as design ideas, color schemes, content structure, sitemaps, and functionality. Once it’s signed off, we move on to the design phase.

Designing

The design phase begins when we give our designer the requirements document, which serves as the basis for their initial design mockups. We always start with a mockup of the homepage, which guides the design of the remaining pages. Once we receive your approval of the mockup, we move on to the rest of the pages. After all pages have been reviewed and edited, we send the designs to our development team to begin the initial build.

Development

Depending on the project, development usually takes between 6 to 8 weeks. During this time, our team will build all the pages for your site and set up any necessary functionality. The requirements document from the planning stage and the mockups from the design phase serve as guidelines for our developers during the build process. Once their work is complete, they will set up a demo version of the site for testing before we take your new site live.

Testing/Staging

The new site is set up on a staging URL, and the review/testing process begins. During this time, we ensure all pages perform as they should. Various tasks we perform include, but are not limited to:

  • Building test scenarios to ensure proper site functionality
  • Confirming all content on each page is correct
  • Performing responsive testing across all devices
  • Configuring site security
  • Ensuring email deliverability is working

When the staging site has been tested, reviewed, and everything is finalized, we will take your site live.
